SAVOR Tasting Series: a Benefit for Sexually Abused Children
Hosted By: Great Doings Media Group, LLC

On May 17, 2007, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., GreatDoings.com, Chicago's leading guide to Culture, Cocktails & Community, brings you a very special evening to benefit counseling and other educational programs for sexually-abused children.

At SAVOR, we put a more upscale spin on the typical fundraiser by pairing specialty cocktails with scrumptious foods carefully selected to bring out the flavor of each. Guests can sip on a range of specialty cocktails made with Gentleman Jack whiskey and Finlandia vodka, while enjoying tasting portions of dishes selected specifically to enhance each spirit's unique flavor profile.  Downbeat lounge music creates a relaxing atmosphere that is great for both personal and professional networking.  A featured raffle gives guests an opportunity to walk away with money and prizes.

Your $25 ticket includes 3 drink tickets for Gentleman Jack and Finlandia cocktails, Bud Select beer, complimentary soft drinks and food.  $3 Chocolate Martinis will also be available.  Proceeds benefit the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago RISE Children's Center and Imagination Theater.

THE BENEFICIARIES

The YWCA and Imagination Theater partner for a very innovative program.  Imagination Theater puts on productions at grade schools to teach children about tough concepts like inappropriate touching, sexual abuse and rape.  Afterward, the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago RISE Children's Center's social workers staff a "safe room" at the school where children can come and talk about issues relating to the play.  If it is determined that a child is at risk, DCFS is contacted and the child is moved to a safer environment.
